A Newborn session including family and sibling images

I thought it may be useful to share some examples of what to expect during a newborn session here at Bella & Duck Photography. Family and sibling set-ups are offered as part of every newborn session, sometimes clients prefer just to have the new baby captured solo and I’ll post a future gallery example of that too. In the meantime here is what to expect if you bring along the whole family.

Newborn sessions are tailored to your tastes and requirements and of course as always are entirely baby-led. These examples come from baby Frey’s gallery who was only a week old at the session; his amazing big sister Nola is four. When you have more than one baby it’s often important to have plenty of pictures including your older children and capture portraits of them at this special time too. Often the images of the children together are the most crucial and ideal for displaying large in your home. Both Nola and Frey behaved beautifully with Frey sleeping on and off. As a result we were able to capture a variety of wrapped and unwrapped pictures of him throughout the three hour session with the focus being on the sibling portraits and family images.

Before your own session it’s good to gather an idea of what colours, styles, poses, crops and types of pictures you like best so that they can be prioritised. Baby Frey has a festive birthday which you will see a hint of in his gallery although the majority of his gallery is subtle, neutral tones to compliment the family’s home decor and a touch of teal to tie in with his beautiful nursery.
